The variety belongs to the group of Mediterranean ecotypes and is intended for use in pasture and hay grass mixtures. The variety is characterized by high productivity and is a subject of breeding work to improve forage quality, in particular by reducing fiber and lignin content through intergeneric hybridization.

The plant has been actively used in physiological experiments to study the effect of temperature and day length on inflorescence emergence, as well as in studies evaluating regenerative capacity in tissue culture. The variety is predominantly found in scientific publications from the 1960s–1990s and is considered a material used in research practice.
