The variety was developed in the USA based on breeding material including varieties Mozark, Martin, Cajun, and KY31 populations. The plant has an upright growth habit. There is a version of the variety labeled Protek, which contains a symbiotic endophyte to increase survival, and a version without it.

The plant is adapted to the conditions of the transition zone, demonstrates high drought tolerance, and is suitable for grazing in the autumn-winter period. The variety has good indicators of fiber digestibility and palatability for livestock. It is intended primarily for agricultural purposes, hayfields, and pasture systems.
