The variety was bred based on Mediterranean ecotypes. Unlike temperate climate varieties, it exhibits increased growth rates in winter and early spring, but is characterized by more pronounced summer dormancy. Under moisture deficit conditions, the variety demonstrates morphological adaptations, however, under extreme water stress, it may show a decrease in growth rates and accumulation of dead leaf tissues.
The plant has a developed root system, with a high root-to-shoot mass ratio. The variety is often the subject of scientific research in combination with fungal endophytes, which influence its physiological stability. The purpose of the variety includes its use as a forage pasture crop and for the creation of turf cover for sports grounds.
