The variety belongs to the category of turf-type tall fescue and differs from forage varieties in its low growth, dark green color, and finer leaves. The plant possesses a well-developed root system, which ensures high drought and heat tolerance, maintaining its green color during adverse periods.

Speedway is used in grass mixtures for landscaping playgrounds, park zones, and sports fields. The variety was bred for increased resistance to trampling and a number of common diseases, such as brown patch.
