The Traverse SRP variety (designated as RK-1) possesses the ability to form underground shoots — rhizomes, which allows the plant to repair damaged areas of the turf and form a strong sod. Externally, the variety is distinguished by a dense dark-green stand with fine leaves, which allows it to be combined with Kentucky bluegrass.

The plant demonstrates high resistance to brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani), drought, shade, and intensive mechanical loads. Due to these properties, the variety is suitable for use on sports fields and golf courses, park zones, and in the production of sod rolls, especially in climatic zones with hot and humid summers.
