The AU Triumph variety was developed through mass and recurrent selection to increase productivity in the winter months. It is distinguished by rapid establishment and high adaptability to various growing conditions, showing vegetative activity during the spring, summer, and early autumn periods.

The plant belongs to very early flowering varieties. In the absence of infestation by the endophytic fungus Acremonium coenophialum, the variety provides high indicators of forage quality and weight gain for livestock, including cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and deer.
