The Arneo bianco variety is known by a number of synonyms, such as Verneo bianco, Inverneo, Invernale, Invernengo, Invernizzo, Natalino and Tardo. The tree is characterized by large size; the leaves are predominantly 5-lobed, although forms with 3- and 7-lobed leaves are encountered.

The fruits have an oval, obovate or pear-shaped form. The skin is colored pale yellow with white spots; the peduncle is very short, and the neck is practically absent. A characteristic feature is that the ostiole scales are an intense pink color.

The variety is uniferous; the harvest period begins in October and, under favorable conditions, lasts until December. The commercial value of the variety directly depends on climatic conditions due to the risk of the fruits failing to ripen in the event of early frosts.
