Violetta
ActiveFicus carica L. · Common fig
Plattner Anton
10 August 2026
The variety is uniferous and ripens around August 20. The fruits have a round-flattened shape and an average weight of about 45 g. The skin of the fruit is yellowish-green, the flesh is red, and the taste of the fruits resembles muscat grapes. The plant's leaves can be either entire or three-lobed.
The variety is considered very old and is often mentioned in Italian sources as a possible "true Etruscan fig" preserved in the Tuscany region as a relict. The plant is not a modern industrial hybrid and belongs to the category of traditional crops preserved in collections and nurseries.
