The BANANE variety, also known as Longue d’Août or Jérusalem, belongs to the Common type and does not require pollination by blastophaga wasps. It is a biferous variety, producing two crops per year: the first (breba) ripens from the end of June to the first ten days of July, the main fig crop — from August to October.

The plant is characterized by high productivity; during trials, yield indicators reached 76 kg per tree. Fruits are characterized by large size and an elongated shape. The variety is suitable for intensive horticulture, including cultivation on trellises.
