Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety has a long history and is known under many synonyms, such as Negronne and Figue de Bordeaux. The fruits have a pear-like shape, often with pronounced ribs, and are covered with almost black skin, which may be covered with a thin bloom upon ripening.

The fruit flesh is very juicy and sweet, has a dark red color, and a pleasant tart taste. The plant is valued for its ability to ripen in cool summer conditions and is suitable for keeping in limited spaces, although the fruits are prone to cracking when ripening.
