The variety has strong growth vigor and a semi-erect canopy. It is characterized by a significant tendency to form basal shoots. Young one-year-old shoots grow vertically and have medium thickness; two-year-old shoots are semi-erect.

The variety is the primary one for the Algarve region and is used predominantly for dried fruit production. The fruits possess technological qualities suitable for long-term storage after drying. It is classified in official catalogs as a traditional variety.
