The variety Cuiro de Bou originates from the Balearic Islands and is preserved in traditional genetic resource collections. The name of the variety translates as “bull's skin” and reflects the characteristics of its thick texture. It is a synonym for the variety Rojisca.

The plant belongs to the Unifera type, producing one harvest per year. The fruits have a spherical or oval shape and are reddish-brown or light purple in color, often with a characteristic network of cracks. The flesh varies from light red to a deep red hue and has a moderately sweet taste with berry notes.

The variety is characterized as productive and is traditionally used for fresh consumption or for drying.
