Violetta
ActiveFicus carica L. · Common fig
Plattner Anton
10 August 2026
The variety belongs to the San Pedro type: the first crop (breba) forms without pollination on the previous year's shoots; the fruits are very large, weighing 100–220 g, and ripen in early summer. The second crop ripens from August to October and may be less abundant in the absence of the Blastophaga pollinator.
The plant is vigorous, reaching 3–6 meters in height, and tolerates pruning and container cultivation well. The fruits have a color ranging from greenish-yellow to dark purple, with juicy sweet flesh of an amber or reddish hue. The variety is moderately frost-hardy (down to -12...-15°C) and has low drought tolerance.
