The DE LA CASETA variety is a local landrace variety intended for fresh consumption and drying. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and belongs to the Common fig type, which does not require pollination.
The fruits are medium-sized and have a pear or pitcher shape. The skin is light green or yellow-green and is distinguished by its durability and thickness. The flesh is dense, dark orange in color, with a pronounced sweet taste. The small, tightly closed ostiole protects the fig from moisture penetration and rot.
The variety is mid-season; the ripening period of the main crop lasts from mid-August to October. The culture does not have high frost resistance and is recommended for cultivation in regions with a mild climate.
