Variety description

10 August 2026

The Comunione tree has moderate vigor and an open-type crown. Fruiting occurs once; the variety is self-pollinating. Leaves are medium-sized, entire or 3-lobed, with crenate margins and medium-length petioles.

Fruits are small, weighing from 20 to 50 g, have a spherical asymmetrical shape and thin skin of brown, sometimes blue-black color. The taste is sweet. The variety is traditionally used in local horticulture and is considered part of the biological diversity of the region.

During studies of viral diseases of figs, including fig mosaic virus, symptoms in the form of yellowing and deformation of leaves were recorded in plants of this variety.
