Variety description

10 August 2026

The Coppa variety, also known as Poppa, is a local variety of fig from Apulia. The tree produces one harvest per year, ripening between mid-August and the end of September.

The leaves of the variety are medium-sized and generally consist of three lobes. The question of the necessity of caprification for this variety remains a subject of debate among gardeners, as there is no consensus on the mandatory participation of Blastophaga in pollination.
