Violetta
ActiveFicus carica L. · Common fig
Plattner Anton
10 August 2026
The variety is characterized as dwarf or compact, although the tree can reach 2.5–5 meters in height, responding well to pruning and container cultivation. Fruiting occurs in summer, in the period from late July to August–September.
The fruits are small or medium-sized, weighing about 20–30 g. The skin is thin, yellow-green in color, which makes the fruits less visible to birds. The pulp varies from pale yellow to strawberry-red and has a sweet taste.
The plant is self-fertile and does not require cross-pollination. The presence of a “closed eye” in the fruits contributes to resistance to rotting. The variety is suitable for cultivation in hardiness zones 7–10, and in zones 5–6 it requires covering.
