Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree has medium vigor and a spreading crown shape. The plant's leaves are large, five-lobed, with wavy-crenate margins and petioles of medium or long length.

The fruits weighing 50–90 g have a symmetrical pear-shaped form with a short peduncle. The thick dark blue skin is covered with pinkish lenticels. The flesh has a fine texture, moderate juiciness, and a sweet taste with aroma and slight acidity.

The variety is local and distributed in the Salento and Taranto regions and on the Gargano Peninsula. The harvest ripens in the second to third ten-day period of August; the fruits set without the participation of pollinating insects.
