10 August 2026
The Paccia variety is characterized as a bifera, producing two harvests per year, the main one of which ripens in mid-August. The tree has high vigor and an upright crown; leaves are 5–7 lobed.
Fruits of the main generation are oblate-pyriform to globose in shape and weigh 50–90 g. The skin is yellow-green and prone to cracking upon ripening. The variety name is associated with the high variability in fruit size.
The variety has ancient roots and is part of the traditional varietal diversity of the Puglia region. The fruits are of dual-purpose use, consumed fresh. The plant may be susceptible to fig mosaic.
