The variety is traditional for the Extremadura region, Spain. The tree is characterized by medium development and dense foliage, with leaves that are predominantly three-lobed or five-lobed.
The variety is bifere, meaning it produces two crops per season. Brebas ripen from the last ten days of June to the first ten days of July, have an average weight of about 38 g, a top-like shape, and yellowish-green skin. The main crop ripens from mid-August to mid-October and has a firm, elastic, purple-colored skin.
The produce is used fresh and is also considered for drying. The variety is distinguished by the good peelability of the skin when cleaning the fruit.
