The Rei variety (also known as De Rei) is a bifere plant, producing two crops per year. It is characterized by low productivity regarding both the breba and the main crop. Brebas ripen in the first ten days of July, and the main fig crop ripens from the second ten days of August until the beginning of October.
The fruits of the variety have good transportability and processing qualities. The plant is sensitive to rain-fed cultivation conditions and drought, which can lead to significant yield losses. The variety is traditionally used for fresh consumption, as well as for drying and preparation in syrup.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
