The medium-sized fruits are top-shaped with a broad apex and a short, thick neck. The skin color varies from green-yellow to light green; in the Processotto Nero variety, it is dark purple or black; the flesh of the fruits is bright red. The leaves are large, predominantly five-lobed.

The variety is unifera and possesses parthenocarpy, requiring no pollination. The ripening period covers the time span from mid-August to mid-October. The dense skin ensures good transportability of the fruits, which are suitable both for fresh consumption and for drying, having a granular texture.
