Variety description

The variety was obtained by clonal selection from local hop populations of the Žatec and Úštěk regions. Plants have a regular cylindrical shape with a green-red stem 10–12 mm in diameter. Hop cones are medium-sized, vegetative or ovoid in shape, with a thin regular strig 16–19 mm long.

The hop possesses a very fine aroma with a high farnesene content. The alpha-acid content is 2.5–6.0%, and the beta-fraction is 4.5–8.0%. The variety is characterized by moderate resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew; the average yield of dried hops reaches 0.9–1.5 tons per hectare.
