Variety description

The variety has a genetic connection with the varieties Wye Challenger, Wye Target, First Gold, and Herald. The plant has a vigorous growth habit and is not a dwarf variety. The variety shows good resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew.

The alpha-acid content is 9–13%, and beta-acid content is 4.2–5.5%. The aromatic profile includes fruity and spicy notes, including hints of lemon, grapefruit, pear, berries, herbs, cedar, honey, marjoram, fennel, and licorice. The cohumulone level is 36–38%.

The variety is universal and is used both for bittering and for late or dry hopping. It is used in the production of various ale styles, such as British Bitter, Pale Ale, IPA, and Stout.
