The hybrid AP1 was developed at the Krymsk Breeding Station under the leadership of G. V. Eremin. Genetically, it is a derivative of allopolyploids obtained as a result of crossing cherry plum and sloe. The plant is not a commercial fruit variety and does not belong to hybrids of Prunus davidiana and Prunus persica.
The primary purpose of AP1 is its use as a donor in the breeding of tetraploid adaptive varieties and clonal rootstocks of stone fruit crops. The main physiological characteristic that determines its value is a high ability for propagation by green and hardwood cuttings.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
