Variety description

The variety is a deciduous liana that climbs vertical surfaces using aerial roots. It differs from the species type by its more compact size (2.5 to 5 m in height) and small, deeply serrated heart-shaped leaves.

Flowering occurs with white corymbose inflorescences in July–August, sometimes starting in May. The variety prefers moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils and semi-shaded or shaded locations. The plant has frost resistance down to -19 °C and is characterized by low susceptibility to diseases.
