Variety description

The plant is a deciduous climbing vine or shrub, differing from the typical species by its small dark green leaves and smaller inflorescences. As the plant grows, leaf size may increase. It blooms with white lace-cap inflorescences.

It is characterized by compact and slow growth. It prefers moist, rich, well-drained soils, is shade-tolerant, and develops well in partial shade. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 4–9. It is used for landscaping walls, fences, tree trunks, or as a groundcover plant in shaded areas.
