Plants of the Quelpartensis group are ornamental deciduous vines used for vertical landscaping or as a ground cover. Depending on growing conditions, the height of the vine can vary from 4 to 15 meters.

From the typical form of the species, this group differs in having smaller, ovate leaves with serrated margins. The plant forms flat corymbose inflorescences with white flowers, the flowering period of which occurs in early summer.

The plant possesses winter hardiness corresponding to USDA zones 4–9. Specific data on disease resistance is unavailable; however, in general, the species may be susceptible to leaf spot.
