The variety is a compact plant 0.5 to 1.2 meters in height with strong stems. The inflorescences are of the lacecap type and consist of double sterile flowers with narrow sepals. The color varies from pink to light lavender depending on the soil acidity level, acquiring a blue tint in acidic environments.

Green foliage with serrated edges may turn reddish in autumn. Flowering begins in early summer. The plant shows relative resistance to leaf spot and other fungal infections. The shrub is primarily used in landscaping, border plantings, and for container cultivation.
