The variety is a compact bushy shrub with a height of 0.6 to 1.5 m. The foliage is green, turning wine-red shades in autumn.
Inflorescences are flat, 'lacecap' type. Flower color varies from blue to lilac-pink or creamy-white depending on soil acidity. Characterized by pale stripes on the sepals and long flowering from July to September.
The plant has winter hardiness down to -18 °C. Used in border plantings, small gardens, and for cultivation in containers.
