The variety is classified as Hydrangea macrophylla. The shrub is characterized by compact dimensions, reaching a height and width of 60 to 100 cm. The foliage is dark green, dense, coarsely serrated, with a characteristic reddish tint on young leaves in the spring and autumn foliage.
The inflorescences are globular, dense, 15–20 cm in diameter. The flowers have a bicolored coloration: white with a thin red or pink-coral border. The shade of the border is subject to changes depending on soil acidity, lighting, and temperature; by autumn, the inflorescences may acquire greenish or red tones.
Flowering occurs on last year's shoots in the period from June to September. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 5–6, which requires mandatory covering in the conditions of the middle zone to preserve flower buds. The variety is suitable for container cultivation and landscaping of small gardens.
