The variety originates from the Shingu region, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The plant is a compact perennial shrub intended for ornamental gardening and collecting.

The inflorescences belong to the temari-blooming type, forming dense spheres. The petal coloration is soft pink, with the color intensity depending on the pH level and the presence of aluminum in the soil. The shrub requires sites protected from wind and moderately moist, drained soil.
