The plant is a shrub with a height of 1–1.2 m with a dense crown. The leaves have a broadly oval or nearly round shape and retain a dark green color throughout the year. In spring, the shrub blooms with small white flowers, after which glossy black fruits may form on female individuals.

The variety responds well to pruning and shaping. The crop prefers illuminated areas or partial shade and requires well-drained soils with an acidity level from neutral to acidic; it tolerates alkaline and calcareous soils poorly. The plant possesses good winter hardiness and resistance to a number of diseases that affect boxwood.
