The plant forms a compact, well-branched bush 20 to 38 cm in height. The variety belongs to the Lavandula stoechas group, which is characterized by the presence of large sterile bracts ('flags') above the inflorescences.

The flowering period is from May to July. The plant is thermophilic, corresponding to USDA hardiness zone 7a; in cold climates, it is grown as an annual or a container crop with indoor overwintering.
