The Tachimasari variety is a product of Japanese breeding. In scientific literature, it has gained recognition due to phytoremediation experiments, in particular, its use in floating bio-plateaus for the purification of pig farm wastewater from biogens and veterinary antibiotics.

The variety was studied for lodging resistance in comparison with other breeding lines. It is characterized as a source of high-quality biomass corresponding to the species traits of Lolium multiflorum; however, detailed agronomic indicators, such as leafiness or maturity group, are absent in open publications.
