The tree is very vigorous and long-lived, forming a spreading crown. The fruiting type is partially spur-bearing; the variety is triploid and has sterile pollen, therefore it cannot act as a pollinator for other varieties. It is characterized by high yield with a tendency toward biennial bearing.

Fruits are large, heavy, flat-round, with pronounced ribbing. The skin is green or yellowish-green, sometimes with reddish stripes, and becomes greasy upon ripening. The flesh is very acidic with a distinct aroma, used primarily in cooking for making purées, sauces, and baked goods.

The variety is late-maturing; fruits are harvested in October and possess good keeping quality, storing until spring. It is resistant to scab and powdery mildew. It adapts well to various conditions, including coastal climates, prefers well-drained clay soils, and is shade-tolerant.
