The variety is the result of folk selection, identified during expeditions in the parish of Quintela, Viseu municipality. The trees of this variety are characterized by vigorous growth and medium productivity; fruit ripening occurs in early or mid-season.

The fruits are characterized by an oblate-spherical shape and greenish-white skin with striped red patches and visible large lenticels. The fruit flesh is juicy, with a greenish hue, medium density, and a sugar content of about 12.8° Brix.

The variety is traditionally used in local horticulture as a fruit crop. Information regarding immunity or disease resistance is absent in the sources.
