A variety of American origin, also known by the name Champion. The tree is characterized by its high growth, reaching 8–10 meters, and is described as a hardy and undemanding plant.

The fruits ripen in October to early November. The flesh is crisp, and the taste varies from sweet to slightly tart. The variety has good keeping quality, allowing the fruits to be stored until spring.

In a number of pomological reference books, the variety is associated with the American variety Collins, while noting the existence of certain differences between them.
