The Conventina di Gubbio variety is an ancient local variety widespread in the area of the city of Gubbio. Historically, it was used in commercial fruit growing, and at present, it is protected as a resource at risk of genetic erosion and is preserved in biodiversity collections.

The plant belongs to winter varieties and possesses high vigor. The variety is distinguished by a specific aroma and, by its characteristics, is close to the 'Calville' group, however, it possesses high adaptability to the local soil and climatic conditions of the high-altitude areas of North-Eastern Umbria.
