The DI CORFINO variety is part of the agrobiological heritage of the Tuscany region in Italy and is included in the country's plant genetic resource registries. This ancient variety is not the result of modern breeding, but was formed as a local folk variety.

The fruits of the variety are characterized by storability: when properly stored in a cool, ventilated room, they keep until February, gradually ripening and developing aroma. The harvest is suitable for fresh consumption as well as for culinary processing.
