The variety is a chance seedling found in a hedgerow near Flintinge. The tree is characterized by a large, rounded crown with drooping branches.

The fruits vary from round-oblong to long-conical, resembling a pear shape. Upon ripening, the skin changes color from green to warm yellow with a brownish-red blush; the flesh is white, juicy, and soft.
