The variety Fuentes is an heirloom Asturian variety not intended for fresh consumption due to specific organoleptic properties and lack of commercial fruit appearance. The tree is characterized by very high vigor and a good level of productivity.

The fruits are small in size, globular to oblong in shape and possess very high acidity. Harvest maturity occurs in the second ten-day period of November.

The variety is classified as highly susceptible to fire blight and shows medium to high sensitivity to fungal infections.
