The variety is a clone of the apple cultivar Fuji and inherits its basic characteristics. The key difference from standard forms of the variety is the intensity and uniformity of the red coloration of the fruit.

The variety is intended for commercial production and is classified as a dessert variety. In the professional community, it is often mentioned alongside other clones produced by the C.I.V. consortium.
