The variety was bred in Japan in the late 1930s. The trees are medium-sized, reaching a height of 3–4 meters. The variety is self-sterile; flowering occurs in the mid-to-late period, which reduces the risk of ovary damage by spring frosts. Winter hardiness is assessed as medium, zone 4b down to -28.9 °C.

The fruits are large or very large, with a weight of 170–250 g, and are round or round-oblong in shape. The ground color of the skin is light green or yellow-green, covered with an intense pink-red blush. The flesh is cream-colored, firm, crunchy, and very juicy; the sugar content is 9–11%.

The variety belongs to the late winter group; harvest maturity occurs in October. The fruits possess outstanding keeping quality and can maintain freshness for up to 4 months or longer if storage conditions are met.
