The tree is of moderate vigor, forming a tall spherical or pyramidal crown, reaching a height of 2–4 meters. The variety is winter hardy, however, it is demanding regarding conditions: it prefers heavy, moist soils and sites protected from winds. The tree shows sensitivity to scab and canker, as well as a tendency for fruit drop before harvest.

The fruits have a truncated-conical shape with characteristic ribbing. The thin but firm skin is pale yellow in color, sometimes with a light blush. The yellowish flesh is distinguished by a tender, juicy structure and a sweet taste with a slight acidity. At present, the variety is considered historic and is found mainly in collections of rare varieties.
