The tree is of medium height, obtained as a seedling in 1870. The fruits are round-conical in a symmetrical shape and covered with smooth skin with large lenticels. The flesh has a greenish tint, is moderately juicy, and prone to browning when cut.

The variety is early-maturing; harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in the first half of August. The fruits are consumed fresh immediately after harvesting, as they are not intended for long-term storage. The taste is moderately sweet with a sour note and a faint strawberry aroma.

The yield of the tree is medium; thinning is required in case of excessive fruit set. The variety has high resistance to scab and apple canker, but is susceptible to powdery mildew.
