The variety is a color mutation of Jonagold, selected for characterization within trial programs. The fruits are of the dessert type, repeating the basic morphological traits of the parent variety but differing in the intensity of the red color.

The variety did not receive wide industrial distribution as an independent brand. Data on its specific disease resistance are absent; growth indicators and susceptibility to pathogens are close to the characteristics of the original Jonagold variety.
