The JTE-H rootstock belongs to the vigorous category, comparable in vigor to MM106. When used as a rootstock, lower productivity of grafted trees is noted compared to dwarf counterparts. A tendency for the formation of overgrowths and root initials on the trunk, known as burrknots, is also observed.

The influence of the rootstock on the scion is expressed in a possible delay in fruit ripening, which affects their physicochemical properties, such as firmness. In laboratory conditions, JTE-H is used to develop genetic transformation methods, in particular, when studying plant resistance to fire blight.
