The tree is vigorous, with a broad, spreading, and dense crown. Fruits are of medium or large size and have a characteristic flattened shape with a ribbed surface. The skin is smooth, shiny, and yellow with an intense carmine-red blush. The white or greenish-white flesh is firm and juicy, possessing a wine-sweet taste with spicy notes.

The variety is a winter type: harvest maturity occurs in the second half of October, and consumer maturity is from November to April. The tree is noted for being undemanding regarding soils and for having good adaptability. The variety is weakly affected by diseases, is resistant to frost and wind, and the fruits have high keeping quality and transportability. It is prone to alternate bearing and is self-infertile.
