The variety is a triploid, which makes it self-sterile and requires the presence of pollinator varieties. The tree is very vigorous, reaching a height of over 9–10 meters on standard rootstocks, although its growth is often limited by pruning in cultivation. The variety shows a tendency toward biennial bearing and requires fruit thinning to control yield.
Fruits are large or very large, round, and slightly flattened in shape. The skin is greenish-yellow with an orange-red blush and stripes, often covered with russeting. The flesh is creamy white, granular, and juicy. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption from October to January and for culinary purposes, where they form a delicate puree when cooked.
